RIPON - Bank auditor and former Ripon Mayor Mike Restuccia is the lone candidate for one of the seats on the Ripon Consolidated District Fire Department’s board of trustees.

Restuccia served as mayor of Ripon from 1998 to 2000 and was a member of the council from 1996 to 2008.

As for his allegiance to the fire department, he interjected: “These guys put their lives on the line to take care of the citizenry and I want to be part of that and help them out.”

Restuccia currently sits on the San Joaquin County Retirement Board that oversees funds amounting to some $2.6 billion.  He is also involved with the Association of California Retirement Systems covering 19 counties that convenes every six months where he was asked to sit on the audit committee.

Admittedly he has a passion for the fire board in Ripon.  He and his wife Mona reside in Ripon.
