Drugs and child endangerment charges landed a Ripon couple in jail this week.

Ripon Police officers Paul Staley and Kristin Garcia responded to a Parallel Avenue motel Wednesday morning to check on the welfare of a child living in a Quonset hut on the premises. The two patrolmen cited unfit living conditions and evidence that marijuana was being grown and harvested at the location.

Detective Gordon West, with the aid of Ripon’s Special Investigations Unit (SIU), quickly obtained a search warrant for the residence.

The Quonset hut yielded evidence of marijuana sales, methamphetamine, psilocybin mushrooms, suspected LSD, packaged and processed marijuana and butane hash oil, police said.

Tristian Thomas Brys, 30, of Ripon was taken into custody without incident and was booked into the San Joaquin County Jail.  His charges included manufacturing a controlled substance, child endangerment, cultivating marijuana, possession of a controlled substance for sale, possession of a controlled substance and possession of concentrated cannabis.

Angela Jean Anderson, 25, of Ripon was also taken into custody without incident.  She was booked into San Joaquin County Jail on similar charges as those of Brys.

Brys is being charge with eight felonies and Anderson with six felonies and four misdemeanors, according to booking information. Brys is being held in lieu of $540,000 bail and Anderson $526,000.

They are both scheduled to appear in the Manteca Branch of the San Joaquin County Superior Court today at 1:30 p.m.
