Bethany Home is celebrating 50 years of providing quality care to seniors living in Ripon and the surrounding comminutes. As part of the celebratory events, they are bringing contemporary Christian artist, Laura Story, to Ripon on Saturday, Aug. 3.
Laura Story is a song writer, worship leader, and recording artist. She wrote the No. 1 worship hit “Indescribable” recorded in 2004 by Chris Tomlin. Her 2008 debut album, “Great God Who Saves,” won the Dove Award for Inspirational Album and earned Story two consecutive nominations for Female Vocalist of the Year. Story’s newest songs “Blessings” and “What a Savior” express strong faith and the gift of mercy in the midst of life’s greatest trials.
“We wanted to show our appreciation to the people in the community,” explained Julie De Araujo, Bethany’s Director of Development. “Sponsoring an event of this magnitude is just one small way we can say ‘thank you’ to all those who have supported us over these past 50 years.”
This family-friendly concert will be held in the Mistlin Sports Park Amphitheater, located on the corner of River Road and Jack Tone Road. Gates will open at 5:30 p.m. A pre-concert performance by the local contemporary Christian band, Radio Friendly, will lead off this evening of worship and blessings.
General admission for the evening is free, although a ticket will be required to enter the amphitheater. A love offering to benefit the work of Bethany Home will be taken during the intermission. For tickets, visit Bethany Home’s Corporate Office located at 999 W. Second Street in Ripon.
