Ripon bus routes up for change

A public workshop on the proposed changes to the Blossom Express transit service’s routes will be held today in Ripon City Hall, 259 N. Wilma Ave.

The 35-foot, 30-seat passenger bus will continue to make its Tuesday and Thursday runs, but with a few changes in store effective Nov. 5.

The workshop will take place in the Council Chambers beginning at 6 p.m. During this time, folks will have a chance to stop by and share any comments on the changes before routes are finalized.

The proposed changes were in response to comments and requests made by Blossom Express riders.

Included are several soft spots at Kaiser Permanente Medical Center on Dale Road in Modesto and, in Ripon, on West Santos Road, North Ripon Road, and West Colony Road.

The new routes will also provide stops linking riders to regional connections to both San Joaquin Regional Transit District – Route 91 with services north to Manteca and Stockton – and a south connection to the Modesto Area Express hub.

All told, the proposed new service will include 29 stops, all ADA compliant, and with no increase to the current bus fares.

The proposed routes can be obtained by logging on to www.cityofripon.org.
