Two educational workshops are planned in the Ripon council chambers over the next two weeks with tips and procedures to follow concerning water conservation, according to Ted Johnston, public works director.

The workshops are geared to provide residents with educational information to help reduce water usage in and around their businesses and homes.

On Thursday, May 14, Marcy Sousa, coordinator of the Master Gardner Program of San Joaquin County will emcee the event that will focus on reducing residential landscape water use with the use of a power point projector.

The second workshop is set for May 28, focusing on the installation of drought tolerant landscaping.  The Master Gardner Program is offered through the University of California outreach program.

Times for the workshops are from 6:30 to 8 p.m.
