Navy Fireman Casey L. Peery, son of Lisa A. Baldwin of Clayton, N. C. and Tom L. Peery of Manteca, recently completed U.S. Navy basic training at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Ill.

Peery is a 2008 graduate of Manteca High School.

Army Pvt. Anthony T. Huber has graduated from One Station Unit Training (OSUT) at Fort Leonard Wood, Waynesville, Mo.  The course of instruction included basic combat training and advanced individual training (AIT).

The basic trainee received instruction in drill and ceremonies, weapons, map reading, tactics, military courtesy, military justice, physical fitness, first aid, and Army history and traditions.  Huber is the son of Nichole Wilcox and grandson of Pat Richter, both of Ripon. The private is a 2009 graduate of Ripon High School.
