Social, turkey BBQ Sept. 27 benefits museum

Tri-tip, barbecued turkey, spaghetti, French bread, salad and marinated tomato slices are all on the menu at the 17th annual Old-Fashioned Barbecue Social on Sunday, Sept. 27 from 2 to 5 p.m.
Sponsored by Manteca Historical Society, the annual fund raiser will feature vintage automobiles, entertainment, raffle prizes and "an opportunity to visit with friends," chairman Ron Howe said.

The barbecue social is in its 17th year benefitting the Manteca Historical Society and Museum.

The event is being held at Spreckels Park on Norman Drive on the grounds of the old Spreckels Sugar factory office that now houses AKF Development.
The cost is $15 per person, while children 12, and under are $7.
