MODESTO – The Modesto Junior College Civic Engagement Project (CEP) invites the community to a screening of the documentary film Harvest of Empire on Thursday, Nov. 19, at 7 p.m. in Forum 110 on MJC’s East Campus, 435 College Avenue, Modesto.

The free event is part of the CEP Fall Film and Lecture Series.  Campus parking is available for $2 in student parking lots.

Harvest of Empire, which is subtitled The Untold Story of Latinos in America, argues that the growing presence of Latinos in America can be viewed as a “harvest of empire” and needs to be understood within the context of the United States’ history of intervention in Latin America.

Following the film there will be a facilitated discussion.
