SAN MARCOS . (AP) — Authorities say they've seized more than 5,000 marijuana plants in two Southern California raids.

About 1,500 immature plants were taken from private land Tuesday in Temecula in Riverside County. A task force of federal and local agents spotted the plants by helicopter a few days earlier.

About 3,800 immature plants were taken Monday on a privately owned hill in the San Diego County town of San Marcos. The crop also was spotted by helicopter.

Authorities say the pot could have been worth $5 million when it matured.

The property owners were not suspected of involvement and no arrests have been made.

Three weeks ago, the task force seized 41,000 plants from land in northern San Diego County.
