Kerri Smith has spent the past two decades focused on nurturing both the mind and spirit of countless people who have come her way through her role as a minister.

She began to incorporate nurturing the body in addition to mind and spirit a few years ago when she began confronting her own health issues that had revealed themselves primarily due to her eating habits.

“Like many, I ate mindlessly and that was the main reason for my high blood pressure, obesity, depression and anxiety,” Smith saiud.

Seeking solutions for her health challenges, Smith became acutely aware of just how often health issues are addressed with medication verses discovering the true cause behind the issues and finding natural, long lasting solutions.

Weeding through mountains of research, some of which was contradicting in the area of health and wellness by so called experts, Smith eventually found the answer she was seeking.

“I came to the conclusion that going back to the basics of real, delicious, nutritious whole foods had the most to offer,” she said.

Smith began applying what she had learned about whole foods and proper nutrition to her own life and immediately saw positive changes in her health.  True to her minister nature Smith quickly went from simply wanting to educate herself, to a deep longing to educate and help others on how to make quality food and lifestyle choices in order to be the healthiest they can be.

Smith began training as a health coach from one of the largest nutrition schools in the world, Institute for Integrative Nutrition.   Through the cutting-edge health coach training program Smith studied over 100 dietary theories, practical lifestyle management techniques, and innovative coaching methods with some of the world’s top health and wellness experts such as Dr. Andrew Weil, Director of the Arizona Center for Integrative Medicine; Dr. Deepak Chopra, leader in the field of mind-body medicine, Geneen Roth, bestselling author and expert on emotional eating; and many other leading researchers and nutrition authorities.

“My education has equipped me with extensive knowledge in holistic nutrition, health coaching, and preventive health,” Smith said. “Drawing on these skills and my knowledge of different dietary theories, I [now] work with clients to help them make lifestyle changes that produce real and lasting results.”

Developing a member based website in 2010, Super-U  (www.super-u.net),  Smith cuts through all the misinformation of fad diets and promises which typically leads to declining health and frustration and instead educates people with easy to comprehend truths about the power of real food.  The information shared on the website from many of the leading wellness experts has helped Smith’s clients make their own informed decisions in order to achieve their optimal health and overall wellness.

“I focus on four areas which I believe are vital for consumers to understand in order to make better health choices:

uReveal understanding the real skinny on food terminology.

uRecharge explaining the necessary basic food combinations that support the digestive process rather than bombards it.

uRenew food education, a.k.a “Food-u-cation” which offers simple recipes and nutritional information in ways that are relevant.

uReboot an exclusive weight loss meal plan (not a fad) along with cleansing and resetting the metabolism.”

Members of Super-U not only receive one-on-one training but also receive the latest information on proper health and nutrition, weekly blogs, video interviews with experts, kitchen demos and recipes for smoothies, juices, main course meals, side dishes, sauces, desserts and more.

Earlier this year, Smith partnered with Dr. Teresa Miller, a certified Naturopath and R.N who like Smith has a holistic approach to health, diet and well-being.  Miller joined as a contributing researcher and educator for Super-U.net and now the two health advocates have opened Super-U Wellness Center at 425 E Center St. Manteca where they can better serve their clientele.

The wellness center will offer clients an affordable alternative to conventional healthcare through Health Coaching Programs, Meal Plans, Food Prep Demos and Classes, Colon Hydro Therapy and an extraordinary line of Organic, Non-GMO skin and hair care products.
