The “Caring for the Caregiver” symposium is scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 14, at Stockton’s Lexington Plaza Waterfront Hotel, 110 W. Fremont St.

The second annual event is being presented by Healings in Motion, Inc.

Mary Nicholson is the founder of the patient-driven agency that serves a significant population of those who had strokes, brain injuries and brain attacks.

Healings in Motion operates in conjunction with Central Valley Recovery, Awareness, Preventing Strokes or CV-RAPS, a local survivors and caregivers network.

Cost for “Caring for the Caregiver” is $79, which includes an overnight stay for those attending the symposium.

The keynote speaker will be Dr. Gladys G. Taylor.

Some scholarships are available, added Nicholson.

“Caregivers represent every race and social economic level,” she said. “The joy of the symposium is that we are one.”

Family caregivers in need of a day of respite but can’t afford to pay can call (209) 234-2802.

Tickets are also available on-line at www.healingsinmotion.com or at convenient locations within San Joaquin County.
