Just months after playing the biggest show their band has ever been a part of, We Set Fire is coming back to their home base for a free show at the Main Street Café.

In their first Manteca concert since January, We Set Fire – with opening act Skouts Honor – will start the free all-ages show on Friday, Aug. 6, at 7 p.m. The doors of the Main Street Café – located at 1464 W. Yosemite Ave. in what was the space that contained Round Table Pizza at one time – will open at 6:30 p.m.

“Let’s make this show huge and have some fun. Hope to see you there,” the band posted on its MySpace page advertising the event. “We’ll play some new songs that night too, and as always we’ll have some shirts and CD’s available for sale. We’ll probably be giving some things away as well.”

After completing the recording of the group’s sophomore album, it’s likely that the show will be a chance to share what they’ve been working on with local fans and friends.

Indie Vision Music – an online music blog that evaluates unsigned and up-and-coming bands – said that the group’s CD Deliverance “is full of heavy breakdowns and guitar riffs that are sure to please every metal fan. We Set Fire makes good use of the double bass pedal that sends much appreciated hard-hitting pulses through your speakers. Overall this is a solid debut EP from a young band that has tons of potential.”
