So just who is Phillip Randol?

Yard signs placed thoughout Manteca have been displaying that question.

You can find out by going to WhoIsPhillipRandol.com or stop by Crossroads Grace Community Church this Saturday or Sunday.

It is all part of a contemporary delivery of a message that has stood the test of time being staged at the Moffat Boulevard house of worship Easter weekend.

The Easter season presentation dubbed “The Fortunate Death of Phillip Randol” tells the story of a man whose death is approaching hence the numbers that grace the background of the yard signs.

The multimedia presentation employs music and drama to deliver the message. It starts with a man walking on stage saying, “Hello, my name is Phillip Randol”. He then collapses as a big clock behind him starts counting the seconds down remaining in his life.

An oversized screen then displays what is running through Randol’s mind - memories of his life going from childhood, to teen years, to college, courtship, getting a job, marriage, and children.

At the end Pastor Mike Moore steps up for a brief Easter message.

“It is a different way of delivering an old message,” Moore said.

The pastor added there is a surprise twist at the end that he doesn’t want to give away.

The presentation is Saturday at 6 p.m. and again Sunday at 8:30, 9:45 and 11 a.m. It also includes activities for first through sixth graders and an egg hunt for those in kindergarten and younger at the church located at 1505 Moffat Blvd.
