Aileen Hope Wise, entered into her Savior’s arms in Ripon, CA, December 20, 2012. She was born May 8, 1929 in Los Angeles, California to Peter and Ethelyn Ryan.  She was married to the late George C. Wise for 40 years.   Aileen was sister to Mary Lou Sweigart of Del Rio, Texas, and to the late Peter Ryan of Redding, California.   She was the loving mother of Deborah Luoma (Jack) of Gilroy, California, Robert Wise (Melodee) of Colorado Springs, Roger Wise (Paula) of  Manteca, California, Donald Wise of Manteca, California, and Christopher Wise (Deborah) of San Jose, California; loving grandmother of 16 grandchildren; loving great-grandmother of three great-grandchildren.  

After growing up in the Los Angeles area, Aileen served in the Navy WAVES during the Korean conflict where she met her husband. They were married April 10, 1953 at the Naval Chapel on Treasure Island Naval Base in San Francisco Bay.  After living in Southern California where Deborah and Robert were born, they moved their family to San Jose in the late 1950’s. She lived in San Jose for 53 years.  It was here that Roger, Donald and Christopher were born, and it was here that she raised her family.

Aileen was a devoted wife, and a loving and involved mother for her family.  When her children were young, she volunteered in their classrooms, in their scout troops and in their church.  She touched the lives of many children in the neighborhood.  She committed her life to serving Christ in the early 1960’s, and was quick to share her precious faith with those she met. She always made sure that her children were in church.  She loved serving as a volunteer librarian in their school and church libraries.  Her home was open to share a meal, or even provide a place to stay for those in need.  In her later years, her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were her delight.   

 P.L. Fry & Son is honored to be serving the Wise family. Friends are invited to attend her visitation on Friday, December 28, 2012 at 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at P.L. Fry & Son Funeral Home, 290 N. Union Rd., Manteca. A memorial service will be held on Saturday December 29, 2012 at 11:00 AM at the Deegan Funeral Home, 111 S.
