Alice Lorraine Bono

Fourteen days after her beloved husband Frank took his place in heaven, Alice Lorraine Bono joined him on their heavenly journey. She passed quietly at home on Aug. 15, 2009 surrounded by her family.


She was born in Livermore, California on April 2, 1915 to Portuguese immigrants, loving parents Manuel Enos and Louisa Gomez.  She and her husband of 74 years, Frank, lived in Stockton for 70 years before moving to Valley Springs.

She enjoyed family vacations, knitting, bowling, and was an avid reader.  She was a homemaker and occasionally ventured outside the home to work in retail or a dentist office.


Alice was preceded in death by her husband Frank, granddaughter Tami Bono and great- grandson Shawn Michael Morenzone.  She leaves behind daughter Myra Morenzone of Manteca, son Frank Bono, Jr. and his wife Jan of Valley Springs.  In addition she was blessed with five grandchildren, Lori Coons (Mike), Mike Morenzone (Kim), Linda Hogan (Rick) Janice Spence (Cliff) and Ryan Bono (Korrie).  Nine great- grandchildren, Ricky and Paul Hogan, Kyle Spence, Scott and Kaitlyn Morenzone, Alicea and Devin Bono, Cassidie and Savannah Head and special family members Ken and Kristy Head.


Friends are invited to attend funeral services on Thursday, Aug. 20, at 10 a.m. in the Evergreen Chapel at Cherokee Memorial Park.  Visitation hours will be Wednesday from 2 to 8 p.m. in the Cherokee Memorial Funeral Home 831 E. Industrial Way at Beckman Road, Lodi.


Memorial contributions to the Hospice of Amador/Calaveras, P.O. Box 595, Jackson, CA 95642 are preferred.


Cherokee Memorial Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
