Freitas-001-LT

*REVISED SERVICE TIME

Alvan E. Freitas, 66, entered into rest on February 27, 2014 in Manteca. He was born on August 26, 1947 in Stockton.  He is preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Mary Freitas.
Mr. Freitas is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Nancy. His daughters are Michele Lockwood (Sean) and Melanie Keller (Brandon). He was blessed by eight grandchildren: Emma; Sean; Madelynn; Tyler; Hayden; Ryder; Brady; and Grayson. In addition, Alvan has three siblings Ralph Freitas, Paulette Freitas, and Pamela Costanza.
Alvan grew up in Manteca and attended Manteca High School, class of 1966. After high school, he started his career with Spreckles Sugar Factory, retiring after 35 years of service. Alvan’s passions were classic cars and trucks. In 1972 Alvan bought a brand new Chevy pick-up truck, which he enjoyed tinkering with for over four decades. His truck held many memories for both his daughters, remembering Sunday drives and riding in the back, while dad drove to get slurpees. Alvan was mechanically inclined, fixing almost anything he laid his hands on. He was extremely giving, as he would help anyone in need.  Alvan had a special bond with both of his daughters, spending time with them daily. His grandchildren meant the world to him. He loved them unconditionally. Alvan’s selfless generosity never went unnoticed, as he was kind to everyone he met. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. He will be missed by all who loved him.
