Angela Patricia McGregor
November 8, 1918-March 11, 2015
McGregor 001 BW

Angela “Pat” McGregor was born November 8, 1918 to Thomas and Marie (Grasso) Murphy in Berkeley, California, and passed from this life on March 11, 2015 in Manteca.  She graduated from Berkeley High School and entered the work force as a clerk for the Southern Pacific Railroad, where she met the love of her life, James W. McGregor.  She and Jim settled in Berkeley, where he was a Firefighter, and raised their four children, Patricia, Michael, Marie and Margaret.  Pat was involved with all her children’s activities and active in the Ladies Auxiliary of the Berkeley Firefighters Association. Once the children were grown, Pat re-entered the workforce and became almost indispensable at General Converting Company as their bookkeeper.  Upon retirement, Pat moved into her dream home in Pollock Pines that she and Jim had built together.  She was active as one of the Ladies of the Moose and was a charter member of the Cold Springs Golf Club.   She enjoyed her garden and was quite on the warpath with the ground squirrels and deer who would steal from it.  Pat and Jim enjoyed poker and pinochle, golf junkets, national and international travel with tours and cruises.  Ten years ago, they moved to Manteca to be closer to the children.
Pat had a very full life and was well loved.  She was predeceased by her parents, her husband of 69 years, Jim and her daughter, Marie Wilson.  She is survived by her sister, Helen Gough of Stockton, daughters Patricia Bilby of Sacramento and Margaret McGregor of Manteca and son, Michael McGregor (Marcia) of Lodi, and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  The family wishes to thank Optimal Hospice, the caregivers and staff of Provident Health Care and Gloria, Mary and Stephanie of Brookdale Senior Living for their care of Pat and help through a difficult time.
P.L. Fry & Son is honored to be serving the McGregor family.  Pat will be laid to rest with her beloved husband at Sacramento Valley National Cemetery. A celebration of life will be held at her daughter Margaret’s home on Saturday, April 11.  Please call 209.825-5001 for further information.
