Bernadine Ann Yarbrough
February 8, 1926-June 27, 2015
Bernadine Ann Yarbrough bw

Bernadine Ann Yarbrough, age 89, peacefully passed away June 27, 2015 at her home in French Camp, California.  She was a lifelong resident of French Camp and the surrounding area.
Bernie was born February 8, 1926.  As a child she attended French Camp Elementary school, the oldest school in the district. Then later, she graduated from Manteca Union High, now known as Manteca High School. After searching for, then marrying the perfect sailor, she started a family. Sadly, she was widowed very young.  On her own, she devoted her life to raising her two small children, Larry and Marilyn.
With her kids grown and married she began working as a teacher’s aide and cafeteria monitor at her childhood school, French Camp Elementary.  For more than twenty years, Bernie took joy in helping children in the classroom, blowing her whistle on the playground, and making sure every student drank his milk at lunch time.
In 1985, Bernie married Howard Yarbrough (deceased).  For twenty-six years they happily shared their love of dancing and travel.  They spent the hot valley summers in the California Redwoods and the winter months cruising the Caribbean. But no matter the weather or location, she always had her favorite romance novel in hand.
Bernadine is survived by her son, Larry Weahunt and wife Donna, and her daughter, Marilyn Gann and husband Fred.  She was a loving grandmother to Jeff, Lene, Brannon, Jeremy, Kevin, Jason and their spouses.  A great-grandmother to Clarissa, Zac, Laura, Amy, Wynter, Tavin, River, Tayla, Kylee, Teagan, Aubree, Taycee, Jordyn and Jaydyn. She also adored her great great-grandson, Camden Cash.
As per Bernie’s wishes, there will be no funeral service.  A private gathering for the family will be held at a future date.
