Bessie C. Smith, 90, entered into rest Tuesday, December 24, 2013 in Modesto, CA.  She was born on November 12, 1923 in Fanshaw, Oklahoma. She joins her husband Thomas F. Smith in heaven.
   Bessie leaves behind her children, Joe Smith and Gloria Burmester. She was blessed with six wonderful grandchildren, Misty, Joseph, Janah, Deanna, John and Jacob.
   Bessie was a resident of Manteca since 1968, before making her home at The Stratford in Modesto. She was loving and caring and truly selfless. She loved her children unconditionally and her grandchildren were the apple of her eye.  Bessie was a people pleaser; her greatest enjoyment was making others happy. She will be remembered and truly missed by all who knew and loved her.
   P.L. Fry is honored to serve the Smith family. Visitation will be Thursday, January 2, 2014 from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm at PL Fry and Son Funeral Home, 290 North Union Road, Manteca.
