Elizabeth “Betty” Jean Pratt passed away peacefully on January 2, 2020 in Ripon at the age of 83. Betty was born on June 11, 1936 in French Camp, CA to parents Frank and Edna Steves. Betty was raised in Manteca and settled in Ripon where she has lived the past 63 years.
Betty loved to go camping. Her home away from home was in Pinecrest where she basically invented “glamping.” Betty enjoyed reading, playing sports with the boys, dressing up in various costumes and twirling her baton. She cherished her friendships and loved her family. She will be remembered for her big heart, warm smile and wicked sense of humor. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her and loved her.
Betty leaves behind her husband and love of her life for 63 years, Clarence, “Chub” Pratt, her daughters, Clarice Luis and Kristi Davis, her grandchildren, Joshua Luis (McKenzie), Kayleigh Luis, Courtney Luis, Denali Kirk (Brent) and Kiana Davis. Betty also leaves behind her godchildren, Georgiann Rose, Jeff Steves, Danielle Davis and Bryan Rose.
Betty is preceded in death by her parents and her siblings, Lawrence Steves, Frank Steves Jr., Robert Steves, Tom Steves and Doreen Weber.
Deegan Ripon Memorial Chapel is honored to serve the Pratt family. A memorial mass is scheduled for Friday, January 10, at 2 p.m. at Deegan Ripon Memorial Chapel. Donations in Betty’s memory may be made to the Ripon Fire Department, 142 Stockton Ave., Ripon, CA 95366 or the Alzheimer’s Foundation of Northern California, 105 S. Washington, Lodi, CA 95240.
