On Sunday, October 10, 2010, Betty Jo Crowder went home to be with the Lord. She was born in Oklahoma on March 28, 1931 to Jesse and Gladys Crawford.

She lived most of her life in Manteca, where she was married and raised four children. She is preceded in death by her parents and four siblings, as well as her husband, Derl Blaine Crowder.

She was survived by her sister, Una Schluer of Manteca and her brother Tommy Crawford of Nevada as well as her dear childhood friend Laura Stone. Her four children and their spouses are Carroll Hudson (Kimmie), Una Stonehocker (Craig), Merisa Eavenson (Scott), and Jessie Diaz (Lito); her 12 grandchildren are Jody, Wesley, Emily, Chase, Daniel, Cameron, Kelcie, Leah, Julia, Jacob, Casey and Kristie, as well as 9 great-grandchildren.

Betty was a member of Calvary Community Church for many years, where she served as a deaconess, sang in the choir, and worked in the children’s ministries. She was a day-care provider for many years and enjoyed contributing to the lives of many little ones in her care.

She was part-owner of Ceramic City here in Manteca, teaching classes and producing beautiful ceramics. She was a wonderful friend and neighbor, always willing to go the extra mile. Above all, Betty was a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved her family as she took millions of pictures to capture every special moment. She was extremely diligent to train each of her children and grandchildren as the way they should go. She was always faithful to pray for all of her family members often.
