Blake Miller-2A bw

Blake was born on March 17, 1929, and entered into the arms of his Saviour on February 24, 2014, in Modesto, California.  He leaves behind his beloved wife Joanne of 60 years. He is survived by two daughters Cindy (Wayne) Oliver and Debbie (Brian) Lee.  He was blessed by three grandchildren, Carissa (Chris) Wallace, Timothy (Jenny) Oliver, and Joshua (Sarah) Lee.  He leaves behind seven delightful great grandchildren.
Blake was preceded in death by his parents, Grace and George Miller, and his older brother Kenneth Miller.
Blake was a man who walked in humility and managed with gracious acceptance his almost five years as a dialysis patient.  Blake has served his Saviour his entire life, and as a devout Christian, he had a servant’s heart. He was a member of Grace Community Christian Church in Ceres for many years, and was presently a member of Journey Christian Church in Modesto.
During his life he worked as a woodworker, making horse racing sulkies and fine harness buggies. He retired as a carpenter after 26 years at Tracy Defense Depot.   In retirement, he taught himself the skills of metal machine work, designing and making precision tools in his home workshop.  All of his tools have been donated to Christian organizations, that they might be used as a testament to a fine craftsman, who spent his life learning many things, all of which he excelled at.
A Memorial Service will be held at Franklin & Downs Funeral Home, 1050 McHenry Ave, Modesto on March 8, at 1:30 p.m.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Journey Christian Church.
