Carlos Manuel Silva was born in his grandmother’s home on the Azore island of Pico, December 30, 1951. Carlos’ late father, Manuel Silva had already immigrated to the United States, and first saw Carlos when he and his late mother Fernanda followed when Carlos was nine months old.

Carlos lived a life of faith, work, family, and sports. At age 13 he began milking dairy cows by riding his bicycle one mile at 3am for the morning milking. He continued his working career in the agriculture business with a variety of positions in Tuff Boy Trailers, Inc. He also loved sports, either playing or watching basketball, baseball, football, tennis, and volleyball. He especially loved wearing his San Francisco 49’ers shirts, and bought each one of his four grandsons their own Niners outfits as soon as they were born. Carlos always enjoyed a close relationship with his siblings; Joe and Susan Silva, Maria Fernanda and Mark Bianchini, and Eddie and Robbie Roberts; and his nieces and nephews.

Carlos met his future wife, Dorothy, at Delta College in Stockton; and were married for 38 years.

Carlos is survived by his wife Dorothy, three children and spouses; Kimberly and Daniel Machado and their three sons, Owen, Jude, and Ezra and daughter Jessica, Tiffany and Jesse Adams and their son William, and son, James Silva.

Carlos’s other love was his relationship with Jesus Christ. As a follower of Jesus, Carlos enjoyed serving and encouraging people where ever he met them. Carlos loved reading his Bible and always did his best to live by its principles, and passing these on to his children.

Carlos battled life-long degenerative cardiovascular disease, yet always moved forward enjoying life even through his last several years in disability from strokes.

A Celebration of Life memorial service will be held at Northgate Community Church, 650 Northgate Drive, Manteca, on Saturday, March 31, at 3:00pm. Donations can be given to his memorial fund at Northgate Community Church.
