Carolina “Carrie” Torres, 84, passed away peacefully the day after her birthday on Thursday, January 10, 2013. Carrie was surrounded by her loving family.

She leaves behind her loving husband of 63years Ernest Torres of Manteca. Her children are Ernest Joseph Torres of Susanville, Lisa Brown and husband Dennis of Hawaii and Marc Torres and wife Huong of MI. She was blessed with five grandchildren Tim, Christina, Brigitte, Aaron and Cory. She has four great grandchildren Timmy, Kylee, Jayjay and Ayden. Carrie has three surviving siblings Laura Stephens of OR, Virginia Morris of Oakdale and Vickie Mummert of Oakdale.

Carrie was a Manteca resident for 10 years previously Newark, Belmont and Redwood City. She was a faithful member at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church. Carrie retired after 25 years from Macy’s department store, where she enjoyed helping others and loved shopping after her work hours. Her and husband Ernie took many trips to places such as Mexico, Jamaica and Hawaii. Carrie had a gift of designing beautiful crafts. Carrie’s family were her pride and joy, she was always there cheering them on, never missing any sporting event. She loved her children dearly and her grandchildren were the apple of her eye. She will be remembered for being a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She will be missed dearly.
