Charles Duran Fields passed away peacefully at his home in Ripon on September 1, 2022 at the age of 71. Chuck was born on October 11, 1950 in Stockton, California to parents, George and Winnifred Fields. 

   Chuck has been a lifelong resident of the San Joaquin Valley.  Chuck attended Ripon High School where he was an All Star Quarterback (number 10) and class president. Chuck started working on the almond ranch at a very young age and continued to farm with his sons until his passing. In the 80’s he loved boat drags with his friends. Chuck was a huge outdoorsman, he loved hunting, fishing and camping with his boys. He enjoyed driving sand rails, hunting in Craig, Colorado and staying busy on the ranch. He was very dedicated to his almond harvesting and shelling company and was a huge animal lover, especially his chocolate lab, Coco. Most recently he loved being a Papa to his grandchildren.

He was known for being a hard working farmer, loving father and loyal friend.

   Chuck leaves behind his father, George Fields, his children, Matthew Fields

(Kendra) and Michael Fields (Haley) and his grandchildren, Tenley, Tullsa, Bennet and Clara. Chuck also leaves behind his sister, Joan Sparks (Terry). Chuck is preceded in death by his mother, Winnifred Fields and his brother, Lyman Fields.

   Deegan Ripon Memorial Chapel is honored to serve the Fields family.  A

celebration of his life is scheduled for Thursday, September 8, 2022 at 9:00 a.m. at Calvary Reformed Church in Ripon followed by graveside service at Burwood Cemetery. Donations in Chuck’s memory may be made to Ripon High School FFA.
