Claude “Stan” Thornton, 71, entered into rest on November 30, 2010 in Manteca, California. He was born on October 2, 1939 to the late Mr. and Mrs. Temple and Manilla Thornton of Fordyce, Arkansas.  At age 5, Stan moved with his parents to Klamath Falls, Oregon.

Stan was a resident of Manteca for the past 3 years. He proudly served his country in the United Sates Army from 1964 – 1967. He attended and graduated from Oregon State University. Stan enjoyed sharing stories, playing cards, and spending time with his loved ones and friends. He will be deeply missed.

Stan is survived by his loving wife June of 42 years.  He is also survived by his sister and brother-in-law, Shirley and Earl Mason of Manteca. He adored his nieces and nephews: Ken and Vicki Reed of Manteca, Virginia Horgan and Judy Ricks of Livermore, and David and Jui Mason of Fremont, California; Deena and Don Owens of Klamath Falls, Oregon, James and Stephanie Mason of Knoxville, Tennessee,  and Jerry and Teresa Mason of Provo, Utah. His great-nieces and nephews thought of him as “Grandpa” and he felt truly blessed by them: James and Benjamin Reed, Kimberly and Crystal Mason, and Kevin Hamilton.
