Darlene Ellen Florence Hayes Junqueiro was born April 28, 1930 in Madison, Nebraska.  She was six years old when her family moved to Tracy, California.  She married her childhood sweetheart, the late David Junqueiro, on July 17, 1948.  They moved to Manteca, California in 1958 where she resided until her death on September 15, 2016.
Darlene was a devout Christian who read her Bible daily for comfort and guidance. The most important part of her life was family.  Close friends were always considered family as she made everyone feel special with her amazing hugs and beautiful smile.  Many of the friends of her children and grandchildren called her “mom” and “grandma.”
She thoroughly enjoyed celebrating all family milestones. Weddings, birthdays, baptisms and holidays were events that she cherished because they would bring the family together.  She loved to cook and bake for these special events and her meals and desserts were one of the highlights of all family gatherings. On each person’s birthday she would bake their dessert of choice. Spending time with her friends and family, going out to eat, shopping, going to the movies and day trips were some of her favorite activities.
She is survived by her children Dave Junqueiro (Michele), Dennis Junqueiro (Nancy) and Dana Bradley (Randy). Seven grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.  She is also survived by her brother Bud Hayes and his companion Juanita Henderson, brother- in-law and sister- in-law Arthur and Charlotte Junqueiro, sister-in-law Clara Bonde and many nieces and nephews.
She was proceeded in death by her husband David Junqueiro, parents Ralph and Dolly Hayes, brother Bob Hayes, sister-in-law Edna Hayes, mother and father-in-law Tony and Mary Bastian, and sister-in-law Betty Carranza.
