David Lawrence Bishop Sr., 31-year resident of Manteca, born to Arthur and Clare Bishop of Roberts, Wisconsin, on July 1, 1929, went home to be with the Lord on October 28, 2010, at the age of 81.

He is survived by his wife, Betty Bishop of Manteca; the father of Frances Bishop of TX, Julie Jessup of Manteca, Brenda Buricago of Manteca, David Bishop Jr. of Manteca, and Kathleen Turner (deceased). He was one of 17 children, all of Wisconsin; brother to Dorothy Van Buskirk of Hayward; grandfather of 11, great-grandfather of 28, and great-great-grandfather of 1.

David served in the United States Air Force from 1945 to 1948, and was discharged at the rank of sergeant. He worked as a heavy duty construction mechanic for 30 years. He was also a member of Operating Engineers Local #3 for 55 years. He enjoyed all types of repair work and gardening, sharing his harvest with others. He will be greatly missed and deeply loved by all.

Funeral services for David will be held on Friday Nov. 5, 2010 at 10 a.m. at Park View Memorial Chapel, 3661 E. French Camp Road in Manteca with internment to follow at Park View Cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by Park View Funeral Home, 3661 E. French Camp Road, Manteca.
