Dorothy Lorraine Faix
December 5, 1928-June 27, 2011
Dorothy-Faix

Dorothy Lorraine Faix,  82, entered into rest on June  27th, 2011 in Modesto. She  was born on December 5,  1928 to the late Peter and  Nora Kooyman. In heaven  she joins her siblings; Peter  Kooyman Jr. and Vincent  Kooyman.

Dorothy leaves behind  her beloved husband Norman Faix whom she  spent 55 beautiful years  with.  Her children: Dennis  Underwood and wife Rose  of  Modesto, Donna Thomas of  Manteca, Richard Faix of  Modesto  and Christopher Faix and  wife Nicole of  Manteca.  She was blessed by 4  grandchildren: Jeffrey Underwood, Brian Thomas,  Nicole Thomas and Ashley  Lorraine Faix as well as 3  great grandchildren. Dorothy was a sister to  Connie McKinney and  Casey Kooyman.

Dorothy was a homemak-er that loved taking care of  her family.  Her children  were the highlight of  her  life.  She enjoyed cooking  up a new recipe as she  would read through her  many cookbooks and was  able to sense what it would  taste like just by reading the  recipe (A skill that her husband had yet to accomplish).  Holidays at Dorothy’s were not simply  a “Holiday” it was an  event and everyone looked  forward to spending time  with her. Dorothy loved her  friends dearly as she would  gather at The Hair Compa-ny for her weekly touch up  and extended conversations  with her many friends.  Dorothy had a true loving  spirit that was felt by every- one. The people that were  truly close to Dorothy could  sense her every mood and  her love of life.  She will be  remembered as a most loving wife, mother, grand- mother and true friend.

Arrangements for Mrs.  Faix are under the direction  of  P.L. Fry and Son Funeral Home, 290 North Union  Rd., Manteca.  A Vigil will  be held in her honor on Friday, July 8th, 2011 at 1:00pm in the Chapel. For  condolences to the family  please visit our web-site at  www.plfryandson.com
