Douglas Russell Dougherty, born September 28, 1959, in Des Moines, Iowa to Roy and Dorothy Dougherty, went

to be with his Heavenly Father and his beloved father Roy on April 13, 2022.

He is survived by his mother, Dorothy Ripon, CA,  his wife of 35 years Billie, daughter Kristina, son and daughter-in-law, Heath and Maryshell, and grandson Malaki, all of Ripon. He leaves behind two brothers, Brett (Lourdes), Scott (Ruth) as well as a brother and sister- in-law, Michael and Darlene. Nephews and nieces, Josh, Ryan, Jason (Jill), Ian, Breanne (Joshua), Breanne (Joshua), Bridget (Andrew) which he loved dearly. He also leaves behind many other family and friends.       Doug never met a stranger.  Doug had many occupations over his lifetime, but the one that gave him the most satisfaction and fulfillment was printing. He started young in the business and partnered with a business in the Bay

Area. He sold that one and for several years searched for an opportunity to get back to printing.  He purchased Ripon printing in the small town he was raising his children in. He had some of the best years working with his dad and his best friend. He stayed with printing for 17 years.  His other passion was sports. His lifelong teams were the Raiders, and the Oakland A’s. His most favorite teams were whatever teams his children were on. He had the pleasure of coaching them.  He had many years of coaching his son and the Ripon Chiefs and Escalon. He was known as a coach and

friend to many. He was also known for his volunteer heart. He spent many years with the Jaycees organizing events that benefited children and the less fortunate in his community.

A celebration of his life will be on Saturday, May 7, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at One Church in Ripon, 1043 S. Acacia Ave, Ripon, CA.
