Edward (Eddie) Torres Sr., 68, entered into rest August 12, 2009 with his family at his side.  A native of Hawaii, Mr. Torres resided in California for 36 Years.  Mr. Torres was a Merchant Seaman in the Civil Service for 15 Years before starting his career with the University of California San Francisco Medical Center where he retired.  He is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Luella Torres of Stockton. He is also survived by their children: Mrs. Gwendolyn Thomas and her husband Soji of San Diego; The Rev. Edward Torres Jr. and his wife, Minister Leitina Torres of Lathrop, CA.; and James H. Torres and his wife Brandi of Kauai.

Mr. Torres is also survived by his sister Carmen Torres of Tacoma, WA, and his brother Howard Torres of Aiea, HI; 7 grandchildren - Jonathan, Maurice and Leilani Thomas, Leimina and Edward Torres III and Kaenon and Shylee Torres; many nieces and nephews, and many friends.

A memorial service will be held on August 22, 2009 at 1 p.m. in The Yosemite Hall of the Best Western Executive Suites, 1415 East Yosemite Ave., Manteca.
