Elsie M. Dutra, 87, entered into rest on December 12, 2011 in Manteca. She was born on May 26, 1924 in Gustine, California to John and Lucy Pimentel. As well as her parents Elsie joins her brothers Henry, Joe and William Pimentel in heaven.

Elsie leaves behind her loving husband of 68 years Henry G. Dutra of Manteca, as well as her son Kenneth G. Dutra of Ill.

Elsie was a Manteca resident for the majority of her life. She was married to Henry June 20, 1942. Elsie was a faithful Catholic and a member at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church. Elsie enjoyed cooking and baking. She crocheted beautiful afghans that she would were during the chilly seasons. Elsie traveled to Portugal numerous times to visit family and friends, and she was always up for a nice get away to Hawaii. Throughout the years Elsie made many good friends that she will truly be missed by. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother and friend.

Arrangements for Mrs. Dutra are under the direction of P.L. Fry and Son Funeral Home, 290 North Union Road. Visitation will be Sunday, Dec. 18, from 1 p.m. to 5pm followed by a Rosary at 6 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be Monday, Dec. 19, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, 505 East North Street, Manteca. She will be laid to rest at St. John’s Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Merrill Gardens of Manteca, Boys and Girls Club of Manteca or Manteca Care and Rehab.
