SILVA ELSIE 001 bw

Elsie Silva, 82, entered into rest on April 1, 2015 in Hughson, CA. She was born on October 6, 1932 in Tracy to the late Manuel and Aldena Telles. She joins her parents in heaven, as well as her husband of 55 years, George Silva and her two brothers Manuel and Edward Telles.
Mrs. Silva is survived by her daughter Marie Teuscher and son-in-law Michael as well as her dear niece who was like a daughter to her, Marylynn Carroll. In addition, Elsie is survived by her three sisters Irma Demichelis, Aldena Tolleson and Lillian Montgomery.
Elsie was a resident of Manteca where she graduated from Manteca High in 1952. She was a bookkeeper for Bank of America until the birth of her daughter. While raising her daughter and niece she kept busy with her girls at St. Anthony’s Catholic School, Girl Scouts, and teaching Catechism. She was an extremely devoted wife where both she and her husband were members and longtime directors of the MRPS hall, past presidents, as well as treasurer. She was also a member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, YLI, Ripon Grange, and the Ladies Auxiliary of the American Legion. She enjoyed keeping up with celebrity news as well as world news by reading People magazine and watching Fox News. For many years Elsie volunteered for the harvest festivals and the Portuguese fiesta where she loved to socialize with the Manteca community. Elsie always had a special place in her heart for animals as she enjoyed the companionship of her dogs.
The Silva family would like to send a very warm thank you to Alexander Cohen Hospice House of Hughson for their love and kindness expressed during this difficult time. A special thank you also to caregivers Mosha, Kelly and Shannon for all the help theygave and her sister Aldena for staying by her bedside during the last days of her life; your compassionate spirit never went unnoticed.
