Evelyn Wineroth was born on October 11, 1924 in Hazelton, Idaho and passed away in Modesto on June 26. She was 85 years old.  

She moved to Modesto in 1930 and graduated from Modesto High School.  She was the college bookstore manager for St. Mary’s and Santa Clara University, and served as a Deacon at Escalon Presbyterian Church.  She was a member of the National Association of College Stores, Casa de Modesto Mentors as well as the Red Hat Society.

 Evelyn is survived by her daughters Pamela LeCouve of Modesto and Susan Walker of Auburn; her grandchildren Shane Atkinson of Valencia, Roxane Busch of Escalon, Tanya Rasmussen of Modesto, Marci Atkinson of Orangevale and 6 great-grandchildren; as well as her siblings Helen Greenlee, Robert Jefferis and Shirley DaFer.  Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband Harry Wineroth in 2002, her siblings Arlene Hobbs and Geri Jenkins as well as her parents Ross and Leila Jefferis.

Her memorial service will be held on Friday, July 9, at 11a.m. at Escalon Presbyterian Church.  In loving memory donations may be made to Escalon Presbyterian Church or to Casa de Modesto Mentors Group.
