Frances Lorraine Downard, 81, entered into the arms of our Lord on February 7th, 2012 in Modesto. The youngest of 12 children, she was born on September 29th, 1930. Awaiting at Heaven’s gates are her children Sandra Rowe and Randy Downard, as well as her parents and siblings.

Frances leaves behind her loving husband of 61 years Dee Downard. She has one surviving son Daniel Downard (Carol). She was blessed with seven grandchildren, Travis Rowe (Sophia), Eric Rowe (Gnim), Ryan Downard, Angela Benjiali (Mounir), Jesse Downard (Katrina), Joshua Downard and Monica Downard. Her great grandchildren are Kyler Downard, Thomas Rowe, Christian Rowe, Jason Rowe, Taylor Rowe, Jamila Benjilali, Leila Benjilali, Cassidy Downard, Sandra Rowe, Issac Doward and Livius Seung. She has one surviving sister Minnie Alves.

Frances was a resident of Oakdale since 1986 and formally of Santa Clara. She worked for American Microsystems in Santa Clara for 23 years before her retirement. She was a former member of First Assembly of God (Manteca) and a member of Gloryland Missionary Baptist Church (Stockton). She was also a member of Women’s Aglow Ministries. Frances was an Ordained Minister; serving in the Prison Ministries with both First Assembly of God and Gloryland. She was extremely involved with the Stockton Youth Authority and their ministries, spreading the word of God to children and young adults. Frances was truly generous and had a heart of gold. She was a most loving and devout wife, a caring mother, and a very special grandmother. She will be deeply missed.

P.L. Fry is honored to be serving the Downard family. A visitation will be held on Sunday February 12, 2012 from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. held at P.L. Fry & Son, 290 N. Union Rd., Manteca. A celebration of life service will be held on Monday, February 13, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. also held at P.L. Fry & Son. In lieu of flowers donations can be sent to Boys Town for
