Frank Louis Scarlata

Frank Louis Scarlata passed away after a brief illness on March 28, 2014 with family at his side.  He was born on October 24, 1934, in Manteca, CA and lived his entire life in San Joaquin County.  He is preceded in death by his parents Louis & Rose Scarlata, his brother Louis Scarlata Jr., and his wife of 40 years, Joan Scarlata. 
   He is survived by his wife of 15 years, Carmelita Scarlata; his brother and sister John and Marilyn Scarlata; his sons Kevin and Kent Scarlata; and his stepchildren Natalie Buster, Larry, Tony and Coleen Carter; five grandchildren and five great grandchildren and sons-in-law Maxwell Jarman and Mike Moon.
    Frank grew up in Manteca and graduated from Manteca High School.  He ran the family olive oil business after the sudden death of his parents.  He served in the National Guard.  He moved his family to Ripon in 1960 and started working for N & S Irrigation and Electric and later for Vernal Canning Co.  Frank earned his electrician and contractor license and established several successful businesses to include: Custom Air and Engineering, D & B Builders, S & L Construction all of Ripon, and Manteca Supply of Manteca.
    Frank was active in the Ripon Jaycees where he was presented with a distinguished service award in1967. He loved golf and was a member of Oakdale Golf and Country Club.  He enjoyed spending time in his beautiful and serene almond ranch home in Escalon. He was a genuine and kind person who possessed an unyielding generosity.  He had a great sense of humor and was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, boss and friend.  He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
    Remembrances may be made in his honor to Escalon Community Ambulance.  At his request, there will be no services and please no flowers.
