Fred W. Leuenberger, 87, entered into rest on Wednesday, October 7, in Manteca. He was born on September 15, 1922, to Swiss immigrants, Fred and Marie Leuenberger who settled in Wisconsin as dairy farmers. He was preceded in death by his parents as well as one sister, Hilda Leuenberger. Fred was a resident of Manteca for 29 years.
Mr. Leuenberger is survived by his wife of 61 years, Adeline Leuenberger of Manteca. His children are Janice Bresee of Manteca, Glen Leuenberger of Manteca and Dennis Leuenberger of The Philippines. Fred was blessed by four grandchildren; Kim Otuafi of Hawaii, Sara Leuenberger of New Mexico, Jenny Bresee and Kevin Bresee, both of Santa Clara, and 6 great-grandchildren.
Fred was a member of the Manteca Senior Center and involved with their Brown Bag program helping other senior citizens enjoy fresh vegetables and fruits. He was also a member of the United Lutheran Church of Manteca.
Mr. Leuenberger’s services are being handled by P.L. Fry & Son of Manteca. A Celebration of Life will be held at United Lutheran Church on Saturday, Nov. 7, at 11 a.m. Fred’s final resting place is at the Tracy Mausoleum, family held a private interment.
