Geneva Shultz Reed, 94, entered into rest on April 18, 2010 in Chico, California. She was born on January 23, 1916 in Little Fir, Arkansas, to Mr. and Mrs. Crawford and Ella Shultz. She joins her husband in heaven Everett Reed and her three sons Clearance Everett Reed (Mick), Willis Dean Reed (Chuck) and Lester Leon Reed.

Mrs. Reed is survived by her two daughters Judy Fay Reed Kellogg and Marilyn Kay Reed Fontes. She was blessed with 10 grandchildren; Deana, Greg, Rick, Wendell, Renee, Rhonda, Rachael, Beverley, Tammy and Rachonda. She was a very special great-grandma to 13 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren.

Geneva lived in Lathrop since 1954. She loved reading, canning, and exploring family history. She loved reminiscing over old family letters and photos. She had a gift of writing poetry about her family, friends and happy times. She had an amazing sense of humor; always laughing and brightening the room with her beautiful smile. Geneva constantly gave out hugs and kisses to everyone that entered the room. Her happiness always revolved around family visits from her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved her family legacy and always bragged about her great-great grandbabies. Her zest for life and positive outlook will always be remembered by her loved ones. She will be deeply missed.

Mrs. Reed’s services are being handled by P.L. Fry & Son Funeral Home of Manteca. Her visitation will be held on Thursday April 22, 2010 from 1 to 5 p.m. at P.L. Fry & Son Funeral Home 290 N. Union Road, Manteca. Her graveside service will be held on Friday, April 23, at 1 p.m. at Parkview Cemetery. An on-line guest book is available at www.plfryandson.com
