The Wilverding family lost its patriarch Wednesday, April 1, 2015 when George F. Wilverding Sr. succumbed after a long brave battle with cancer. Born November 18, 1933, George grew up in Scranton, PA where he started his family before moving to Manteca in 1981. George had a unique personality that always kept his family and friends amused. He was a huge fan of golf, UFC, and Mike and Mike in the morning, and of course DA-BEARS! his main hobby was Tuesday night poker with the guys.
   George was most proud of his family. He leaves behind sons; Jerome and George Jr. daughter, Denise, and their respective spouses Ellen, Kimberly, and David. George’s grandchildren include Ashley, Garrett, Blaine, Chance, Cory and Erica. Pop’s greatest joys were following them up and down the valley watching their sporting events before eventually losing his eyesight.
   George was accompanied in his later years by his surviving longtime companion Darlene, and his faithful dog You-Dog who he will now be joining in the eternal life.
