Gerrit Verver passed on to his heavenly home on March 29, at the age of 90.  He was the third child of William and Grace Verver and lived in Ripon all his life. 
   He was a member of Zion United Reformed Church and dearly loved his Lord.  He proudly served his country during World War II in the Navy.  He was an Atomic Veteran and participated in an above ground nuclear test.    He leaves his beloved wife of almost 68 years.  Together, in retirement, they did volunteer work for the Mobile Missionary Assistance Program in the United States and Mexico, traveling from place to place in their motor home.  They loved traveling in different countries and in the United States. 
   Gerrit is survived by his wife, Gertrude, his beloved children Grace Van Elderen (Dave), Gloria Verver (Ken), Tim Verver (Lynda), grandchildren Brad Van Elderen (Andrea), Curt Van Elderen (Karen), William Verver, Steven Verver (Sami), Soquel Verver, Beth Hofman (Trevor), Heather Verver, great grandkids Morgan, Kristen, Derek, Trevor, Tyler, Reed, Anthony, Alexis, Bailey and Bennett and many nieces and nephews. 
   He is also survived by his sister, Alberdina Alberdi and his sister-in-law Margaret Van Duyn. 
   He was preceded in death by his son William Verver and his brother Jim Verver.
   A memorial service will be held at Zion United Reformed Church, in Ripon on Thursday, April 12, at 11:00 a.m.  Memorial gifts may be made to Ripon Christian Schools or Bethany Home.
