Gertrude Opal Goldman, 83, entered into rest on July 9, 2009 in Modesto, California. She was born on February 9, 1926 in Oklahoma. She is preceded in death by 5 siblings and her beloved husband Martin Goldman.

Mrs. Goldman is survived by her children Richard Jones of Visalia, Beverly Ballard and her husband Dan of Manteca, and David Jones and his wife Vicki of Modesto. She was blessed by 5 grandchildren; Heidi Goodman of Manteca, Heather Alicia of Manteca, Adam Jones of the Bay Area, Jessica Jones of Modesto and Kyle Jones of Modesto. She also has 7 great-grandchildren; Kristie, Savannah, Joey, Robert, Hannah, Gracie and Annalise. She has one surviving brother Raymond “Buddy” Daniel of Turlock.

Opal was a resident of Manteca for over 40 years. In her younger years she was a medical assistant for Kaiser in Santa Clara for 8 years. Opal’s true career was being a grandma. She loved to give lots of hugs and kisses. Spoiling her grandbabies was her definitely her game. She loved to teach her grandchildren how to sew, make bows and garden. She looked forward to every year in taking her grandchildren to Anchor Bay to go Abalone diving. Road trips were always a great joy to Opal when it involved her grandchildren. She will be remembered for her kind spirit her angelic type patience and being a very special grandmother. She will be deeply missed.

Mrs. Goldmen’s services are being handled by P.L. Fry & Son Funeral Home of Manteca. A Celebration of Life service will begin at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, July 14, at P.L. Fry & Son Funeral Home 290 N. Union Road,. Manteca. She will be laid to rest with her beloved husband at Parkview Cemetery.
