Gladys “Marie” Sipe at the age of 78 went home to be with the Lord on Feb. 21, 2011.  She joins her husband in heaven Archie L. Sipe.

Marie was born in Augusta, Wisconsin and moved to Stockton/Manteca area when she was 18.  She was very proud of her Norwegian/Swedish heritage.

She was a loving devoted daughter, wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.  Marie had a deep-rooted religious conviction and was very involved with church work.  She was a LVN nurse and cared intensely for her patients.  She enjoyed singing, playing guitar, artwork, camping but most of all family.

Marie is survived by four children; Mary VanRenselaar, Richard Sipe, Donald Sipe and Glenda McDonald.  Also nine grandchildren;  Kimberly Williamson,  Donald Sipe, Jr., Bryan Sipe, Thomas Sipe, Richard Sipe, Jr., Chrissy Sipe, Jennifer McDonald, Vanessa VanRenselaar and William McDonald III.  Marie also has eight and one on the way great-grandchildren;  Angel Rodriguez, Seth Sipe, Sienna Sipe, Brandon Williamson, Emery Sipe, Keenen Sipe Bailey Annette Sipe, Peyton Elizabeth Cataline, Jonathan Sipe, and on the way “Bean” baby Ellis.

Marie was pre-deceased by her mother Florence E. Johnson, husband Archie L. Sipe, sister Faye Parrott and Aunt Bertha.

A memorial service was held Feb. 25, 2011 at the Franklin Downs McHenry Chapel Modesto, Ca.  Her final resting place is at Lakewood Cemetery, Hughson, Ca next to her loving husband Archie.
