obit

Guy Monacelli was born on March 22, 1926 and passed away on July 12, 2012. Guy was born and raised in Colorado, served in the US Military (Army) in 1944, and moved to California in 1956.

He was employed by the gasoline business and later acquired his own gas station in Oakland. Guy retired from the gas business and moved to the San Joaquin area in Lathrop, California. He was survived by his wife, Betty Monacelli; three daughters, Barbara Santo, Lorri Church and Cherly Souza, three sons; Bill Souza, James Souza and John Monacelli. Guy was blessed with 6 grandchildren; Lisa, Jessica, David, Madison, John and Billy, his great grandchildren, Michael and Jacob and one great grandbaby on the way.

He loved to spend time with his family, tell stories of his past, he loved eating Mexican food and he loved his sweets, but most of all he loved to just fish and relax. Guy was very gifted and he loved to build things. If he had an idea he could build it. Guy will be missed but he will always be in our presence and our hearts.
