Jack M. Stokes passed away peacefully on September 3, 2018, in Manteca, CA, at the age of 84.  Jack was born on June 12, 1934 in Jefferson City, MO, to Marvin and Elsie Stokes.  

   He was a resident of Manteca for over 35 years. Jack is preceded in death by his wife of 35 years, Helen Jane Stokes, his parents and three older brothers.

   Mr. Stokes is survived by his daughter, Jackie Shelton Wood of Jefferson City, MO; stepsons Ron Sauro of Olympia, WA, John Sauro of Titusville, PA, and Perry Sauro of Fairfield, CA, and sister, Helen Brown.  He was blessed with several grandchildren, Theresa Meyers, John J. Sauro, II, Rick M. Sauro and Steve M. Sauro, and nine great- grandchildren.  Mr. Stokes also leaves behind several nieces and nephews who all live in MO. 

   Jack served his country in the Army from 1957-1959.  After leaving the military, he worked as a mechanic for 35 years before retiring.
