James Chester Prestwood

James Chester Prestwood, Jr was born August 19, 1951 to James and Marilyn Prestwood in Ohio. 

   He moved to Anaheim when he was four years old. After graduating from Magnolia High School, he went to

Chapman University for 2 years. Jim went into the Navy and was stationed in South Korea for 2 years.  He worked as a salesman for Karr Products and later at Sandia National Lab for 15 years.  He went to Golden Gate Seminary in his forties and earned a Masters in Christian Education. He was a Director and taught

Seminary Extension classes. He was very active in church serving as a deacon and Sunday School teacher.  He was a member of Toastmasters for 21 years and served as a Division Director. He also earned the Distinguished Toastmasters award. 

  He and his wife, Julie, were married for 28 years. They traveled to 50 different countries including a few where they did mission work and Jim preached. Jim was a big time Dodger Fan.   He was preceded in death, by his mother, Marilyn Prestwood. 

   Jim is survived by his wife, Julie, his three stepchildren, Mike Thiel, Jeanette (Jeff) Doen, and Tim (Christy) Thiel, his father, James Prestwood of Fallbrook, CA, his sister, Pam Joseph of Fallbrook, CA and his brother, Steve Prestwood of

Sandy, Oregon and five grandchildren; Trenton Doen, Stasia Doen, Avery Thiel, Grant Thiel and Jackson Thiel. 

   A celebration of life service will be held at Sequoia Church at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 10. 2023
