   Surrounded by his loving family, Joaquin “Jack” Luis, entered into rest  on December 14, 2014 in Hughson, at the age of 92. He was born on August 13, 1922 in Sacramento to the late Joe and Anna Luiz.  In heaven Jack joins his parents and brother, Tony Lewis.
    Mr. Luis is survived by his loving wife of 69 years Bea Luis. His children are, Carol Campbell (Jerry), Ron Luis (Clarice), Richard Luis, Jeff Luis (Jean), and Stacy Avilla (Tony). He was blessed with nine grandchildren, Brian, Sean, Brad, Cezanne, Addyson, Trevor, Tyler, Trent and Thomas. Additionally, Jack had seven great-grandchildren whom he adored. 
   Jack was a resident of Manteca, attending Manteca High School. He was a truck driver by trade working for various companies over the course of 60 years. When not driving trucks Jack was commonly spotted on the family farm working vigorously to support his family. He was a devoted member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church as he was a member of the YMI and was elected as the first male president of St. Anthony Catholic School. Jack was a handyman as he was willing to help anyone who was in need, especially when it came to welding. His favorite past-times were going to rodeos, making horse shoe art, boating, waterskiing, trips to local casinos and visiting the happiest place on earth “Disneyland.”  Jack was a witty man with a giving heart. His sense of humor was always fun as his social personality never went unnoticed. Jack will be remembered as a devoted family man who loved his family unconditionally.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 18th, 2014 at 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. followed by a rosary/vigil at 7:00 p.m. both held at P.L. Fry & Son Chapel, 290 N. Union Rd., Manteca. Mass will be held on Friday December 19th, 2014 2:00 p.m. at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, 525 E. North St., Manteca, CA. He will be laid to rest at a later date at St. Patrick’s Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to Community Hospice House, 2201 Euclid Avenue, Hughson, CA 95326 or St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, 525 E. North St., Manteca, CA. 95336.
