Steven passed away peacefully on July 6, 2012 at Doctor's Medical Center of Modesto after a brief illness. He was the son of John and Hallie Cotrell. Steven spent his younger years in Manteca, and then moved to Ripon in 1972, where he attended Ripon High, participating in several sports.

Steven was a truck driver for various haulers as well as enjoying farming on the family's almond ranch. Everyone who knew Steve, including his loving extended family, enjoyed his sense of humor.

Steven is preceded in death by his father, John Cotrell. He is survived by his mother, Hallie Cotrell and his sister Chris Lake, both of Ripon.

A private graveside service will be held. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the Manteca Historical Society.
