Kathryn "Kathy" Jane Aartman-Weed, 67, entered into rest on March 7, 2012 in Stockton. She was born on December 15, 1944 in Inglewood to the late Robert and Gertrude Munro. Kathy joins her parents in heaven as well as her infant daughter Nancy Lynn Aartman.

Mrs. Weed is survived by her beloved husband of six years Jerry Weed. She has four surviving children John Aartman (Aimee), James Aartman (Kelly), Thomas Aartman (Michell) and Annette Aartman. She was blessed with 22 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. In addition, Kathy has three surviving siblings; Sr. Nancy Munro, Elaine Hartin, and Robert Munro.

Kathy was employed as a teacher for over 45 years with the Manteca Unified School District, teaching computers and special education. She also taught at the Manteca Adult School teaching English as a second language. Kathy was a current board member of the Boys and Girls Club of Manteca and Lathrop where she also served as past president. She was past president and current board member of Soroptimist of Manteca as well as Hanot Foundation. She was a Hall of Fame inductee in 2011 for her outstanding community service. She was a devout Catholic attending St. Anthony's Catholic Church. She was a service volunteer at the Manteca Senior Center teaching arts and crafts. Above all Kathy's passion was children she loved teaching, mentoring and just listening to children's needs and passions. Kathy will be remembered for her selfless spirit and her caring heart. She will be greatly missed.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 13, 2012 from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. followed by a rosary and vigil at 7:00 p.m. held at P.L. Fry 290 N. Union Rd. Manteca. A mass will be held on Wednesday March 14, 2012 at 11:30 a.m. at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, 525 E. North St., Manteca. She will be laid to rest at St. John's Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations can be sent to the Manteca -Lathrop Boys and Girls Club, 545 W. Alameda, Manteca, CA 95336.
