Kenneth J. DePont, 76, entered into rest on September 21, 2012 in Manteca, California. He was born on July 14, 1936 in Niles, California. He was a resident of Manteca for 35 years.

Mr. DePont is survived by his wife of 17 years Elaine DePont. He has 4 children John DePont, Debra Hartman, Troy DePont and Tracy DePont. He was bless with 13 grandchildren Shannon and Rebecca DePont, Garret and Sheridan Hartman, Brittnay Bogue, Cortney, Cheyanne, Abby and Mykenzie Wilcox, Larry Garner, Tyson, Tristen and Taylor Briggs.

Kenneth was known to family and friends as Ken. He was a veteran; proudly serving his country through the United States Marine Corps. After the military, Ken worked in construction as well as a mechanic at a motorcycle shop in Hayward. He then decided it was time to make a career change and he moved Manteca. Ken then established “Ken’s Marine Repair Shop” in Stockton which served many customers over the course of five years. His last career move was accepting a job opportunity though the City of Manteca. He finally retired in 2005 after 21 years of service as a Lead Mechanic. Ken enjoyed motorcycle racing, boating, fishing, and operating radio controlled cars. He loved to tell stories as he visited with his many friends and family members. Ken will be remembered as an all around good guy. He will be missed.

P.L. Fry & Son is honored to be serving the DePont family. A visitation will be on Thursday, September 27 2:30 to 6 p.m. at P.L. Fry & Son 290 N. Union Rd. Manteca, Ca. A mass will be held on Friday September 28, 2012 at 12:30 p.m. at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church 19399 E. 120 Ripon, Ca. He will be laid to rest at St. John’s Catholic Cemetery 17871 S. Carrolton Rd.
