   Imogene Wood, 98, entered into rest on October 27, 2014, after a brief illness in Ripon, CA. Although a resident in Manteca for over 70 years, she was born in the town of Waterville, WA. She moved to California as a small child and graduated from Manteca High School.  She married the love of her life, Jessie Loren Wood.  She was one of the first telephone switchboard operators at the San Joaquin General Hospital, was an office manager for Dr. Brown and Dr. Wolf for many years and was a claims secretary for State Farm Insurance in Manteca. She loved reading, fabric art, quilting and ribbon embroidery. She volunteered at the Manteca Senior Center and was a member of Eastern Star for over 50 years.
   Imogene is survived by her sons Loren (Elaine) Wood and Don (Margie) Wood, three grandchildren: Dawn (Grady) Atnip, Tamara Summers and Wendy (Chip) Reynolds, and five great grandchildren: Travis Atnip, Jason Atnip, Kelsey Summers, Harrison Reynolds and Holden Reynolds.
   Imogene is preceded in death by her parents: Minnie and Guy Campbell, sisters: Faye Ross and Leitha Smith and her husband Jessie Loren Wood.
   A graveside service will be held at Park View Mortuary and Cemetery, Wednesday, October 29, at 11 a.m. in Manteca. 
   The family would like to thank the staff and management at Bethany Home in Ripon , CA for the loving care they provided in her last days. A memorial donation may be made to the Bethany Home Foundation or to a charity of your choice.
